Suvarnabhumi Airport Observation Deck
Is it worth walking across the terminal hall and going up 3 storeys? No. The observation deck was awful. When I first reached on top of the escalator, there were no clear indications where the deck was, I later found out that I had to walk up another flight of an elevated path way. Things got a little worse. It was terribly hot up there. There were floor-mounted vertical air-conditioners but it did not made me comfortable. The observation deck was absolutely empty with a couple of benches facing towards the apron. The view was disappointing, metal structures and trusses were blocking. A normal digital camera wouldn’t get you the picture you’d hope for. Suvarnabhumi Airport is not selling itself. Take Frankfurt Airport Terminal 2 for an example. A family-friendly area suitable for everyone, no one is left out to bore here, whether your boyfriend or you child is out there plane spotting. Everybody has everything to do, whether the misses having a cup of coffee children shopping for memorabilia’s and take-away gifts. Observation deck should be a public area and a chill-out zone for passengers or even the public, it should not be a place only for plane spotters.
